[Open for Fortune]
Pop-Up Book Design
Software: Adobe Illustrator, Figma
This project began from my personal relationship with anxiety, doubt, and the small joys that helped me navigate them. As a child, cracking open a fortune cookie and discovering a simple message felt magical — as if the words were written just for me in that exact moment. Over time, I realized that “fortune” isn’t limited to cookies, but can be found in everyday gestures: a friend’s kind text, a stranger’s smile, or a song playing at the right time.
Inspired by the “yellow car theory” — the idea that once you start looking for something, you’ll notice it everywhere — this book is a collection of gentle fortunes and affirmations designed to remind us that reassurance and meaning surround us when we choose to see them. Each page offers a small message, like a fortune waiting to be opened, for moments when readers need comfort, clarity, or encouragement.

[Stop Motion Video Project]
Making Kimchi At-Home
Video Editing Software: Premiere Pro
For my class project, we were tasked with creating a stop motion video using Premiere Pro. I decided to make a playful tutorial on how to make kimchi, crafted entirely with clay.
My creative direction was inspired by the nostalgic visuals of Cooking Mama, my favorite childhood cooking game, which first introduced me to Korean recipes while I was growing up in the United States. By blending the step-by-step logic of a tutorial with the tactile quality of stop motion, I wanted to highlight the cultural importance of kimchi while also reimagining it through the lens of childhood memory and digital play.
