[Stop Motion Video Project]
Making Kimchi At-Home

Video Editing Software: Premiere Pro

For my class project, we were tasked with creating a stop motion video using Premiere Pro. I decided to make a playful tutorial on how to make kimchi, crafted entirely with clay.

My creative direction was inspired by the nostalgic visuals of Cooking Mama, my favorite childhood cooking game, which first introduced me to Korean recipes while I was growing up in the United States. By blending the step-by-step logic of a tutorial with the tactile quality of stop motion, I wanted to highlight the cultural importance of kimchi while also reimagining it through the lens of childhood memory and digital play.

Illustration: Procreate, After Effects

During my internship at GiantStep Studios, I worked on motion graphics for video advertisements, using After Effects and Procreate to bring visual concepts to life within a given thematic direction.

For this campaign, I designed and animated hand-drawn flower sequences that were integrated into an advertisement for a major banking firm in Korea, combining illustration and motion design to enhance the brand’s visual storytelling.
