This project is a semester-long visual diary created during my study abroad in Rome. Rather than documenting the city through traditional maps, the project uses graphic design as a tool for reflection and counter-mapping, translating weekly site visits, walks, and lectures into illustrated spreads.
Each page responds to a specific theme such as dérive, protest, housing, and everyday rituals through symbolic forms like tickets, banners, houses, and keys. Typography, color, and layout shift subtly across the diary to reflect mood, movement, and personal perception, emphasizing experience over objective geography. The project was presented as both a designed PDF and a recorded walkthrough, highlighting design as a method for observing, mapping, and understanding place.
